70 Baptized in Mhondoro | Ministry News

A new believer gets baptized in Mhondoro (3 June 2023)

It was yet another success story this year as the Everlasting Gospel continues to triumph in the highways and byways of earth’s uncharted territory. Mission Go was in Mhondoro, Zimbabwe from the 18th of May to the 3rd of June 2023 proclaiming the Good News of salvation to the residents of Mhondoro.  Close to sixty (60) missionaries attended the campaign and heartily participated in house-to-house witnessing, evening services and literature distribution. The campaign had five(5) preaching sites in the villages of Gora, Dzapata, Musonza and others. We give thanks to God for the seventy (70) souls who accepted Christ as their Saviour at the conclusion of the meetings and were baptized to become members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. A Drug Awareness Campaign and Health Expo were conducted during the mission campaign and these attracted hundreds from the community who came to receive free health education and  consultation. In addition, nearly a hundred and ninety (190) individuals from the community had enrolled for Voice of Prophecy (VOP) Bible lessons prior to the beginning of the campaign through the efforts of a Mission Go lay evangelist. These managed to complete the course and they graduated during the campaign.

The newly-baptized church members(70) have since received each a Shona Bible and a Doctrinal Manual, courtesy of the ministry. Ten (10) hymn books were secured to help the new church members in services. The church also received three(3) church stands in the area courtesy of local village heads. Two new congregations were established, one at Masawi and the other at Chamatamba. Church structures for worship services are currently being built for these two congregations using locally available material and fencing for these stands will also be done. Mission Go has engaged two(2) lay evangelists (Global Pioneer missionaries/GPs) who are  working in partnership with the District Pastor to nurture the new believers and continue to raise interest for the cause of present truth in the area.  Our prayer and objective as a ministry is to plant congregations that won’t die natural deaths in a short time but will rather continue to grow and thrive in the community and win more people to the truth.
